How it works
These are not fonts. They are Unicode characters, such as mathematical letters and circled letters, that happen to look like styled text. Because they are ordinary characters, you can paste them anywhere that accepts text.
Where to use it on TikTok
- Display name and bio. A short styled name or one styled line stands out.
- Captions. Use a styled word for emphasis, not a whole caption.
- Not in your username. Usernames only accept plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods.
Before you use it everywhere
- Accessibility. Screen readers may read styled characters strangely or skip them. Keep anything important in plain text.
- Search. Styled letters are different characters from normal ones, so they may not match searches. Keep your main keywords in plain text.
- Display. Older devices may show empty boxes for some styles. Test on your phone before you settle on one.
- Less is more. A whole bio in a decorative style is hard to read.
Questions
Why did some characters not change?
Only the letters A to Z and, in some styles, the digits 0 to 9 are converted. Other symbols and emoji are copied as they are.
Will these count as more characters?
Some styled characters take up more space than normal ones in a character count. Each result shows its length, but check the counter in TikTok too.
Why does Upside down read backwards?
The text is reversed on purpose, so it reads correctly when the line is turned upside down.
Does this tool save what I type?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
