TikTok engagement rate calculator
Type in the numbers from your recent videos and get your engagement rate by views and by followers. Nothing is uploaded, and there is nothing to log into.
| Views | Likes | Comments | Shares | Saves | Rate |
|---|
Views, likes, comments, shares and saves are shown on each video and in TikTok Analytics. Use 5 to 12 recent videos for a steadier picture than a single post.

How TikTok engagement rate is calculated
Engagement rate turns interactions into a percentage so accounts of different sizes can be compared. There are two common versions.
By views: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views × 100
By followers: average interactions per video ÷ followers × 100
This calculator shows both. Interactions are counted per video, then added up, so a video with more views weighs more in the overall by-views figure.
By views or by followers?
| Version | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| By views | Judging how well a video held attention, and comparing your own videos. | A video pushed to a large cold audience can score lower even if it did well. |
| By followers | Comparing accounts, and what brands often ask for in media kits. | Reach on TikTok often has little to do with follower count, so it can mislead. |
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
There is no single answer. Published figures differ because each study samples different accounts and uses a different formula. Reports we reviewed in 2026 put the median across a large set of influencer accounts near 1.3%, while other sources give averages of roughly 4 to 5% and a common range of about 3 to 6% for many creators. Smaller accounts tend to post higher rates than large ones.
A useful rule: compare yourself with creators of a similar size in your niche, and compare your latest videos with your own earlier ones. The trend matters more than any benchmark.
Ways to raise it
- Open with the payoff. Viewers decide in the first second or two whether to stay.
- Ask one specific question that is easy to answer in a comment.
- Make content people want to keep, such as steps, lists or templates. Saves are a strong signal.
- Post consistently, then check which of your last ten videos scored best and repeat what they share.
Questions
How many videos should I include?
Five to twelve recent videos give a steadier result than one post. Very old videos are less useful because your audience changes over time.
Why is my rate different on other calculators?
Formulas differ. Some tools ignore shares or saves, some divide by followers instead of views, and some sample only the last few posts. Pick one method and stick with it when comparing.
Should I count shares and saves?
This tool does, because both show that someone valued the video enough to act. If you are comparing against a figure that excludes them, remove those numbers from the boxes.
Does this tool look up my account?
No. It only uses the numbers you type in, so it cannot fetch a profile, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.
